The East Midlands Wind Farm
A rash of recent proposals looks set to result in the most fundamental and far-reaching change in the landscape of the East Midlands since the Enclosures.
We are proud to present links to websites operated by isolated and hard-pressed community groups that are desperately fighting the construction of different generation units within what will become the East Midlands Wind Farm.
If current applications are successful the site will stretch from Harrington in the East to Ashby Parva in the west and as far south down the M1 corridor as Watford, Northamptonshire. Whilst at this stage the planning applications are all being being submitted by separate developers it is likely that a single large power company will step forward to acquire the operation once construction is completed.
The list below illustrates features proposals for around 58 wind turbines grouped into eight generation units. However this is by no means an exhaustive list.
Health warning: Please note that Stop The Spin is not responsible for the content of third party websites and accepts no liability for the accuracy of the information provided by developers or opposition groups. When reviewing both developer and opposition websites please remember that the opposition groups are understandably outraged by the behaviour of the developers. Equally the developers stand to become very rich providing they can persuade the local population to comply with their wishes.
